Today after the tournament (May 11, 2019), while we were cleaning up, one of our instructors found this little note folded up very tightly. The words and their sentiment were unexpected but this little heartfelt message to some little boy or girl to themselves was so sweet we had to share them:

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Faithfulness, Generousness, Self Control

Round 1 “0”
I lost the first round.
I am sure I will win next!
Round 2 “1” [that’s a WIN]
Round 3…
Perhaps we’ll never know the outcome of Round 3.
But here’s what we do know: Everyone who attended was a winner!
And anyone who has the forsight to write “Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Faithfulness, Generousness, Self Control” is already a winner in life. Congrats to you, dear chess player! And congrats to your family for teaching and encouraging these life lessons and values!
